A man has been arrested overnight after a 13-hour stand-off with police.
A huge emergency response was called to the A666, Blackburn Road, in Darwen yesterday afternoon shortly after 1pm when a man was spotted on the roof.
Road closures were put in place as a man was allegedly 'throwing tiles off a roof', close to Hollins Grove Surgery.
The incident resulted in traffic chaos in the town, with members of the public advised to avoid the area and motorists diverted along Earcroft Way and Hollins Road as police closed roads around the scene.
The stand-off continued until after 3am, when police confirmed the man was brought down by a Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service crane.
He was immediately arrested for criminal damage and affray
