'Never Such Innocence' is coming to Blackburn and aiming to give local children and young people a voice on conflict as part of their International Poetry, Art, Speech and Song Competition.
The Community Roadshow event will take place on Friday 20 March from at Blackburn Cathedral.
The event will be an opportunity for local children and young people (aged 9-18) to showcase their work for international poetry, art, speech and song competition inspired by conflict throughout history.
The event will include a message from Founder and CEO Lady Lucy French OBE and a representative from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission will then highlight the locations of local graves and places of remembrance, to encourage students to engage with local history. Every entrant will receive a certificate of commendation.
This years theme is “The Impact of Conflict on Communities” and encouraging children and young people to respond to or reflect on a conflict they feel strongly about. This might be historical or current, on an international scale or within your local community. Entries are being accepted from all young people aged 9-18 and entry is completely free.
