A BLACKBURN-based education technology provider has been given top marks for its initiative work in 2019.
Promethean was announced as winner of ‘market development initiative of the year’ at the AV News Awards held in Amsterdam.
Ian Curtis, Promethean head of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific markets, said: “2019 was another excellent year for Promethean, notably becoming the global leader in our market.
“We are confident that our commitment to education and dynamic market development initiatives have been instrumental to our success and we will continue to raise the bar even higher to do everything we can to support schools and our channel partners.
“I would like to extend my thanks to the Promethean team and our partners who help us to deliver an outstanding service to education.”
The awards recognised the contributions made by individuals and teams to the development of audiovisual business, with special awards to technologists, sales, marketing and support professionals.
Promethean said that through co-ordinated campaigns that champion its robust educational technology offering, excellent partner relationships and a commitment to supporting schools, the company had elevated itself to become the global market-leader in interactive flat panel displays.
A Promethean spokesman for the Lower Phillips Road-based technology giant said its ActivPanel Elements series of interactive displays for schools had been designed in partnership with teachers.
Promethean has also pioneered initiatives such as The State of Technology in Education Report, which provides insights into the successes and challenges faced by schools.
Last year, Promethean announced the beginning of a programme that will see it forge strategic UKI content partnerships to further improve teacher accessibility to resources that can be enhanced through using its technology.
In December, the company announced a significant multi-million deal that will see its ActivPanel interactive displays installed in 26,000 classrooms across Egypt.
