In a dramatic finish, Chorley salvaged a precious point against high-flying Albion, Stephen Burke bagging his second opportunist goal of the game in the fifth minute of added time.

The never-say-die Magpies had seen an interval lead overturned by a lively Ossett side but the visitors came under mounting late pressure and a draw was the right result to a patchily entertaining match.

Ossett keeper Neil Bennett had already made a smart diving save from Burke before Chorley went ahead in the 11th minute. Jordan Goodeve shrugged off a strong challenge on the right before delivering a raking low cross which Burke netted at the back post.

Fired up at the break, Ossett were soon on terms and made their obvious height advantage count from a free kick, the ball being headed on for the unmarked Boardman to find the net in-off the far post.

Chorley were punished for hesitation in defence after 76 minutes, failure to clear their lines resulting in Luke Morgan seizing possession and rifling a low drive through a crowd of players past the unsighted Collinge from 25 yards.

The goal looked to have secured victory for Albion until the closing minutes when Burke pounced in a packed penalty area to steer the ball into the net.
