A GROUP of pupils from a Chorley high school won two first-prize awards at a prestigious national ceremony.
Rebecca Walker, Myles Heaton-Smith, Talya Arda and Jack Dickens from Parklands High School went to the Safety Groups UK event in Whitehall, London, where they had been nominated along with national and international organisations within the realm of health and safety.
During the ceremony, the students also gave a presentation in front of over 100 adults, many of whom ran companies or were responsible for health and safety within their company.
There were also members of the House of Lords in attendance.
Steve Mitchell, headteacher at the Southport Road school, said: “Our students (the only students there) stood out head and shoulders above all of the adults presenting and they even got a standing ovation after their presentation.
“They could not have done us more proud.”
