A BRIDE-TO-BE with incurable cancer will have her dream wedding day thanks to donations.

Tracy Ashby and her fiancé Craig Martin, from Oswaldtwistle, needed help with wedding costs after Tracy was diagnosed with untreatable tumours in her spine, lungs and sternum.

The mum of three needs help to get married this coming May at Haworth Art Gallery in Accrington, after being told there was nothing else that could be done after her cancer returned.

She said: “It has made me realise that I live in a fantastic town because many of the offers are from people local to me. It shows we come together and help each other when times are hard.

“I hope everyone can also make it to the fundraising charity day at Oswaldtwistle Golf Club. It has taken my mind off everything at the moment because I was so down.”

Among the offers, Liv Avanzi will prepare the wedding favours, Wendy Byrne will make a tiara, Al Hamza will do the venue dressing, Jenna Hacking will provide make-up, and Malvern Cars will provide transport.

Balcony Brides have already given Miss Ashby a free wedding dress.

Miss Ashby said: “My partner Craig is so thankful too, he is working all hours at the moment.

“Thank you all so much for all the donations and offers, it is so wonderful.

“This is helping me, and I am overwhelmed at all the support we are getting. It is taking a lot of the pressure off because it is stressful planning a wedding anyway, yet alone when you are ill.”

She has also been offered video and photography from Mark Cooper.

She said: “He will do an amazing job, and it was his wife who wrote to me and said they wanted to make memories for our family, so they can have photographs and videos of me talking and laughing.”

There are some things the former service manager still needs, such as transport for her family to get to the wedding and suit hire.

A fundraiser is being held at Oswaldtwistle Conservative Club on March 8, from noon till 5pm, organised by Rachel Keogh and Claire Stewart.

Raffle tickets can be bought by calling Ms Keogh or Ms Stewart on 07732621979. A Just Giving page has been set up to raise £4,000. Visit justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tracy-ashby.
