A BACUP tenor is to join a host of celebrities raising cash for The Prince's Trust this Christmas.

Sean Ruane, who released his first solo CD called She Moved Thro' the Fair in 2004, will be involved in the famous faces' choir on ITV's Britain Sings Christmas - a celebration of favourite festive songs.

Classics will be selected by a public poll, in which viewers rank their top ten, before they are performed by the choir.

The songs will be broadcast on big screens across Britain.

Radio DJ Craig Doyle, actress Claire Goose, TV presenter Gaby Roslin, and comedian Jo Brand are among volunteers in the 20-strong choir.

Viewers will be able to pay to download the tracks of the celebrity choir's performances.

ITV say all net profits from downloads and telephone voting will go directly to The Prince's Trust, which helps change young lives across the UK.
