A PROJECT has been hailed for helping to transform both streets and communities.
The Up My Street initiative was launched in spring 2007 by Pendle Council and focused on a terraced row of houses in Nelson and a street of 17 houses in Colne.
Both streets are in key Housing Market Renewal and Neighbourhood Management areas.
The aim was to see if residents, working together by sharing labour, ideas and resources, aided by modest funding from the Council, could transform the external appearance of their street and help raise the value of their properties.
