A FORMER RSPCA inspector is sharing his experiences in the first of three books chronicling almost four decades with the society.
Frank Milner left his job as an ambulance man in Blackburn to join the RSPCA in 1954. It began a life dedicated to improving the way animals are treated, through the world's oldest and most respected animal welfare organisation.
He worked as an inspector in Bradford and district until 1962, and rose to chief superintendent, commander of the special investigation and operations department.
As the man at the helm, Frank investigated and solved some of the most notorious cases of animal cruelty in the United Kingdom and across the world.
The Animal Man is available for £10.95 from bookshops.
