MARCH 5: Greenacres Congregational Church, Galland Street, Oldham, launch of the Evening Friendship Choir, 7pm to 8.30pm and every Thursday thereafter. Fun friendship and feel good music. No auditions. Everyone welcome. £2 per person including refreshments.

MARCH 7: St Thomas' Church, Moorside, coffee morning, 10am to 12noon, in aid of Dementia UK and the mayor of Oldham Ginny Alexander's chosen charities. The mayor will open the event and we also have live music provided by a student of Sarah and Hazel Davies.

MARCH 10: Friezland Church Hall, Greenfield, Saddlworth Floral Art Society annual meeting, 6.30pm followed by a demonstration at 7.30pm by Judy Watker of Leeds entitled "All That Jazz". All welcome. Visitors £6, including refreshments.

MARCH 11: Saddleworth Historical Society, Saddleworth Museum, High Street, Uppermill, 7.30pm an illustrated presentation by Andrew Bibby entitled "Working Co-operatively from Rochdale in 1844 to Hebden Bridge in 1870". All welcome. Members free, £3 for non members. Refreshments available.

MARCH 12: Saddleworth Civic Trust, Saddleworth Museum, High Street, Uppermill, 7.30pm, an illustrated presentation by Christopher Hughes of Ripon Civic Society entitled "Ripon and its Conservation Areas". All welcome. Members free, but a charge of £3 to non-members. Refreshments available.

MARCH 18: Springhead Liberal Club, Lunch at the Libs, 12noon to 2pm. Choice of hot food, cakes, tea or coffee for £3.75. Raffle and stand-up bingo in aid of Care for Kids.

MARCH 24: Springhead Liberal Club, "It's not Rocket Science" general knowledge quiz, 8.30pm. £3 per person including raffle and stand up bingo, in aid of Mind and Maggie's.

APRIL 8: Saddleworth Historical Society, Saddleworth Musuem, High Street, Uppermill, 7.30pm, an illustrated presentation by Seren Griffiths entitled "Forged Conflict: Francis Buckley, Saddleworth Archaeologist and the First World War.
