Abi Kitching, new Blackburn Music Society leader
BLACKBURN Music Society has announced its next two events.
On Saturday March 21 it will stage a ‘Masters of Melody’ concert at 7pm at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, West Park Road.
Music includes Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine. The performance will be conducted by the Society’s Musical Director Abi Kitching with soloists Rachel Abbott, Emma Roberts, Zahid Siddiqui and Thomas D. Hopkinson.
On Sunday April 25 it will stage a Verdi Requiem singing day requesting people to join in singing the famous religious piece of music. It will last from 10am to 3.30pm at Wesley Hall Methodist Church, Fielden Street, Blackburn.
