POLICE are looking for dashcam and cctv footage to help discover what happened to a dog that was found covered in faeces in a street.

The German shepherd, named Willow by the RSPCA, was found very thin and weak, as well as having matted fur, when she was found at around 11.30pm on Pleckgate Road, Blackburn, before she collapsed.

A motorist spotted her and flagged down a passing police officer, who took the dog to an emergency vets.

A police spokesman said: "Willow is still very poorly in hospital.

"Police and RSPCA are working together to find who is responsible.

"We are asking residents to help by checking your CCTV or dashcams for anything that may help us identify the individuals involved.

"The name Willow was given to her by RSPCA, if you recognise this dog by another name, please contact police.

"If anyone has any information please contact 5771@lancashire.pnn.police.uk."
