NEW jobs have been created at an award-winning pub following a refurbishment.

The Southfields in Great Lever has been given a new look, and the investment has created four new jobs.

The Green Lane venue will be planning a host of fundraising events and activities in coming months for Green Fold Special School.

An extensive refurbishment saw the pub, part of the Sizzling Pub & Grill chain, close for two weeks in early January.

To celebrate the reopening, the team invited the Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Hilary Fairclough, to officially mark the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

General manager Adrian Stones said: “We’re so pleased at how brilliant The Southfields looks following the refurbishment, and we were thrilled to have Mayor Hilary Fairclough here to cut the ceremonial ribbon for us.

“Hilary is a passionate supporter of the Bolton community and it was a privilege to have her join us to officially mark the opening of the new look Southfields.

“We’re now looking forward to continuing our fundraising efforts for Green Fold Special School, an incredible organisation that is close to many of our hearts.

“Bringing the new look Sizzling Pub & Grill to Bolton is really exciting for the whole team. At Sizzling Pub & Grill, we want to offer good food and good value for all our guests, and we’re thrilled to be providing the area with a new dining destination that does that in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere."
