A POLICE officer has asked residents where they want him to patrol in their neighbourhoods.

PCSO John McManamy posed the question on social media to the residents of Shadsworth and Whitebirk in Blackburn after acknowledging there had been a spike in crime in certain areas.

Reassuring residents that he is here to help, PCSO McManamy said he wanted to focus police resources to where they needed to be.

He wrote: “I’m asking you to tell me where you’d like to see me patrolling more often.
“I am aware of the issues on Delph Lane and Hereford Road, as well as the area surrounding the Shadsworth Hub. But what other areas need my attention?

“Please do bear in mind I am limited in where I can be at what times etc but I want to do my best to reassure all members of the community that I am here to help you. If you don’t feel comfortable responding to this post, or if you have any questions that you don’t feel able to ask on here, then you can as always contact me via BlackburnSE.NPT@lancashire.pnn.police.uk Regards PCSO McManamy.”
