A BENEFIT cheat who failed to tell the Department for Work and Pensions that he was working has been ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work. Steve Osborne, aged 51, of Coronation Road, Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to committing the offence between June 2016 and January 2019 when he appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court. He was also ordered to pay £175 in costs and charges.

A MOTORIST who drove without insurance has been fined £60 by Bolton magistrates. The court heard how Waleed Ahmed, aged 32, of Candlestick Park, Bury, committed the offence in Bury on April 3 last year. He pleaded guilty and in addition to the fine, was ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A MAN who illegally used a disabled person's blue parking badge has been fined £146 by Manchester magistrates. David Wood, of Bury New Road, Prestwich pleaded guilty to committing the offence in Bury on May 29 last year and he was also ordered to pay £280 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £180 after he was caught driving a BMW 320 on the M60 on June 17 last year. Zak Cohen, aged 27, of Buckingham Road, Prestwich, pleaded guilty to driving whilst banned and without insurance. Six penalty points were added to his driving record and he was ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 20 months by Manchester magistrates. Ryan Tonge, aged 29, of Tennyson Gardens, Prestwich, admitted committing the offence whilst driving a Fiat Punto on Dales Lane, Radcliffe, on January 16. He had drunk more than double the legal alcohol limit. He was also ordered to pay £117 in costs and charges.

AN UNINSURED driver who failed to stop after a crash has been fined by Manchester magistrates. Dylan Primo, aged 21, of Glaze Walk, Whitefield, pleaded guilty to committing the offences and to careless driving. The court heard how he had been driving a Mercedes on June 19 last year when there was a collision with a Fiat Punto on Rochbank Road, Bury. Primo was fined £320, ordered to pay £117 in costs and charges and was banned from holding a driving licence for three months.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for eight months after he admitted assaulting a man in Radcliffe on January 14. James Hyde, aged 22, of Milltown Street, Radcliffe, was also ordered to pay £106 in costs and charges.

A SUSPENDED prison sentence has been imposed on a teenager who went to a property in Home Street, Bury, on February 2 in breach of a restraining order. Khasif Khan, aged 18, of Horne Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and was sentenced to six weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and was ordered to pay £207 in costs and charges.
