THE sexual health needs of the most vulnerable people in Blackburn with Darwen will be discussed at a conference next month.

Health specialists from the NHS and Blackburn with Darwen Council will be speaking at the event on March 13.

The event has been organised by the Contraception and Sexual Health Service to better understand the sexual health needs of vulnerable people in the borough.

Keeping it Real is aimed at practitioners who work with vulnerable people.

Dr Tessa Malone, consultant in sexual health in the contraception and sexual health service at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This event is about bringing health professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds together to discuss what we can do better to help meet the sexual health needs of the most vulnerable people in Blackburn with Darwen.

“At difficult times in their lives, people often neglect their sexual health, and this can lead to unplanned pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections and other sexual problems."
