A TRACTOR was stopped in its tracks after being spotted on the M60 motorway.
Police traffic officers pulled the agricultural vehicle over this afternoon.
The driver told officers they had taken a wrong turning on their way to Burnley.
The motorist was fined for driving a prohibited vehicle on a motorway.
The tractor was recovered from the hard shoulder.
GMP Traffic tweeted shortly before 6pm: "GMPSRTT - Tractor on the M60 motorway. Driver apparently had taken a wrong turn on the way to Burnley. Fined for a prohibited vehicle on a motorway and recovered from the hard shoulder."
In the UK, all vehicles registered with the DVLA as agricultural vehicles are prohibited from using a motorway.
