A DRUG dealer has been jailed after police found snap bags full of cocaine in his car.

Preston Crown Court heard how police stopped Anthony Collinge’s Skoda Octavia on the A59 in Clitheroe at 12.45am on November 13.

A search of his car resulted in the discovery of the cocaine, while examination of Collinge’s mobile phones following his arrest unearthed a number of text messages relating to drug-dealing.

The court heard the cocaine had a street value of £500.

Collinge, 31, of Union Street, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

Recorder Tom Gilbart jailed Collinge for three years and nine months and also ordered forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.

Speaking after the hearing, Sgt Hayden Sibley said: “Police believe Collinge mainly supplied his drugs in the Ribble Valley area.

“We are aware of people still supplying cocaine in Clitheroe, Whalley and the surrounding areas so keep looking over your shoulder because you could be next.”
