NEW Burnley MP Antony Higginbotham MP has signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment at Westminster
The Conservative politician elected on December 12 pledged his commitment to to honouring those who were murdered during the Holocaust as well as paying tribute to the concentration camp survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people today.
Mr Higginbotham also attended Burnley’s Holocaust Memorial Service on Sunday at the Peace Garden.
This month's events mark 75 years since the liberation of the camps including Auschwitz-Birkenau with the theme of‘Stand Together’.
Mr Higginbotham said: “Holocaust Memorial Day is an important opportunity for people from Burnley to reflect on the darkest times of European history.
"As the Holocaust moves from living history, to history, it becomes ever more important that we take the time to remember the six million Jewish victims and also pay tribute to the survivors."
