HERE is a list of all the major roadworks going on across Blackburn and Darwen this week.

There will be traffic restrictions in Mosley Street, in Blackburn from today which will last for five days.

A crane will be carrying out work in the road.

Traffic will be directed around an alternate route via Highfield Road, Rockcliffe Street, Robert Street and back to Mosley Street.

A Blackburn with Darwen Council spokesman said it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Thursday.

Roadworks that have been taking place in Pleckgate Road in Blackburn will cease tomorrow.

There are two-way traffic signals at the site due to works being carried out by gas company Cadent.

The junction of Pleasington Street, Garden Street and Dixon Street in Blackburn will be closed until Friday.

Gas maintenance work by Cadent is taking place.

Traffic is requested to go an alternate route via Redlam Brow, Bank Top and Throstle Street.

Roadworks are in place in Billinge End Road and Buncer Lane in Blackburn with temporary traffic lights in place.

United Utilities are carrying out repairs in the area.

Delays might occur but the water company is expected to to finish its works by the end of Wednesday.

There are also United Utility works taking place in Bolton Road, Blackburn.

The road is will to be closed until Friday.

A Blackburn with Darwen Council spokesman said traffic affected by the closure can go via Alan Shearer Way, Livesey Branch Road and the continuation of Bolton Road.

There are multiple temporary traffic lights installed across Blackburn Road in Darwen this week due to a series of works.

At the most northern set of lights, at the junction with Westwell Street, is work being carried out by Virgin Media to repair its lines.

This will be implemented today and should be gone by Wednesday, the council said.

The next set, at the junction with Falcon Avenue, is work being carried out by Virgin Media to repair failed cable.

The work is set to only last a day.

Work on-going by United Utilities at the junction of Duckworth Street, the continuation of Blackurn Road, will cease on Friday.

The water company said it is installing pipework to help with the water supply in the area.
