PEOPLE reading the Lancashire Telegraph towards the end of the 1970s were able to grab themselves a bargain when an all expenses paid trip to Malta was advertised for just £167.
The unthinkably cheap price included coach transfers to and from Manchester airport, a return flight to Malta, hotel transfers, half-board accommodation, a cocktail party, welcome dinner and two-half day excursions.
If that wasn't enough to get 70s holiday makers in a tizz, then a full day excursion to Gozo was also included.
Staying in the luxurious Corinthia Palace Hotel for seven nights, guests were able to take advantage of on-site shops, a sauna, a hair salon, restaurants and lounge bar as well as nightly entertainment and heated swimming pools.
