NEW images of a missing man moments before he disappeared have been released by police as fears grow for safety.

Alexander Stern was last seen in The Bull Inn, in Sonning, just across the Oxfordshire border, at about 7.30pm on Saturday, January 11.

At the time the 36-year-old, who is from Kensington in London, was wearing dark clothing and was carrying a rucksack, he was also wheeling a suitcase.

Police said it is possible that he no longer has the rucksack.

CCTV images have now been released of him inside the pub as well as wheeling a suitcase and heading past Copper Club towards Sonning Bridge on the B478.

Sonning is in Berkshire near Reading, a five-minute walk from the South Oxfordshire district border at Sonning Eye, which was the direction Mr Stern was heading.

Police have also released an image of the smaller version of the type of suitcase he was wheeling.

There has been several search operations taking place which have included assistance from Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue Team.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Ben Henley, said: "We now have some further images to help in the search for Alexander.

"The Police and his family and friends are very concerned for his welfare.

"If you saw Alexander last Saturday or think you may have seen him, please contact Thames Valley Police.

"We hope these images may remind you of what Alexander was wearing and carrying that day and hope this could help trace him."

He added: "If anyone in the area could check any CCTV or dash-cam footage they have and let us know of anything you find which could be related to Alexander, please share this with us.
