A MAN was taken to hospital after coming off his motorbike in the early hours of this morning.

Police and paramedics were called to Church Street, Haslingden, at around 1.35am after reports the man, who is in his 20s, had come off his bike in a side street.

No other vehicle was involved in the crash and no arrest has been made. The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

A witness spotted six police cars and an ambulance near St James Church from around 1.30am until 3am.

He said: “We were worried there was something serious going on there were so many police cars there and the ambulance.”

A police spokesman said: “ We were called at 1.35am to reports of a motorcycle being involved in a collision in Church Street, Haslingden. It appears they have been going down a side street. A man has come off the bike and suffered a broken leg. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance.”

An ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called at 1.35am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle. We have sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle. A man in his mid-20s has suffered a serious leg injury.”
