MOTORISTS are being warned of overnight closures on the M66.
The southbound carriageway of the motorway will be closed between the A56 at Edenfield and Junction 2 of the M66.
Closures will take place for five nights from January 13 and will be in place between 9pm and 5am. “Clearly signed” diversions will be put in place, Highways England has said.
The closures are to allow for works to renew the safety barriers and drainage along the M66.
A Highways England spokesman said: “All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible. Drivers looking for roadworks information for individual schemes should now visit www.trafficengland.com.”
