A NEW £2.5million fleet of buses to transport passengers between Blackburn and Bolton are set to hit the road later this month.
The 13 single-deckers are set to come into operation on Transdev’s Number One service via Darwen.
They have been built by Scarborough-based Alexander Dennis as part of a wider £3.5m investment programme by the operator.
The route is operated by Transdev subsidiary, the Blackburn Bus Company.
The new buses include up to date features for passengers including fast wifi, wireless charging and USB power points, and the very latest low-emission technology. In addition they will include onboard voice announcements to help customers get to where they’re going, welcome them to the bus and let everybody know the next stop.
Alex Hornby, Transdev’s chief executive, said: “At Transdev, we place our customers at the heart of everything we do, and each of our new buses now on order will offer several new and never seen before features for them to enjoy.”
