TWO women were arrested following the discovery of a man’s body at a house in Rossendale.
The women, aged 55 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance after the body of a man in his 60s was found by paramedics in St James Square, Bacup, at 2.20pm on Monday.
The women have since been released under investigation.
Police said their enquiries are ongoing but at this stage the man’s death is being treated as unexplained.
A police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service at shortly before 2.20pm on Monday to reports that a man in his 60s had been found deceased at an address on St James Square in Bacup.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and our enquiries remain at an early stage.”
