STEPS to ensure everybody stays warm during the colder months are being taken by a council.

Rossendale Council is taking action on fuel poverty to provide eligible residents with little or no cost insulation and brand new A-rated boilers.

The council’s affordable warmth grant provides funding for first-time central heating, boiler upgrades, radiator repairs and gas fire replacements.

The scheme is particularly focused on helping vulnerable residents in Rossendale who may be in, or at risk of, fuel poverty as a result of extremely high energy bills.

Councillor Steve Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Customers, said:“We are committed to supporting householders with high energy bills to provide energy efficiency grants.

“By providing funding and support in the scheme, we are helping our residents stay warm this winter whilst making their fuel bills more affordable and reducing carbon emissions.”
