A CARE home which caters for residents with physical disabilities has been rated good in its latest CQC report.

Rough Lee Home in Accrington was visited by inspectors unplanned in November and was given an all round rating of good across the board.

The Rough Lee Road-based home had 15 residents at the time of inspection and can cater up to 17, the CQC report said.

From the report, a CQC inspector said: "People received care from staff who were trained and knowledgeable about their needs.

"People were supported to eat and drink and praised the quality of the food.

"People had maximum choice and control about their care, and were supported to make important decisions in line with guidance and the law. "People had access to health care including regular screening to help maintain optimum health."

Andrea Buckley, who has been a manager at the centre for more than 13 years, said: "I am delighted with the CQC rating, it’s very well deserved.

"We have an excellent staff team who go above and beyond their remit, our care and maintenance staff have worked here for many years."
