A 'body' found in the River Irwell by a passer-by turned out to be a mannequin.
On Saturday afternoon, a concerned Waterfoot resident contacted the police and uploaded a picture to Twitter of what looked like a body floating in the water.
The resident said: "I've seen this in the River Irwell on Bacup Road at the bridge opposite Beverley Alexandra and behind Waterfoot Aquatics.
"May be a mannequin but I can’t be sure."
