ARRANGEMENTS have been confirmed with the owners, Bluemantle, for local politicians, residents and former employees to visit the Erecting Shop at Horwich Loco Works on Saturday, January 4, between 10am - 1pm.
The historic train yard is set to be demolished to make way for a new link road to serve a 1,700-home development being built at the Rivington Chase site. The £12m road will connect Horwich Town centre and Chorley New Road to the M61 via the new development.
Anyone who has not registered to visit already should contact derek.cartwright@outlook.com before Monday, December 30.
Visitors should assemble at Rivington House (the former Works Offices) and will be able to look inside and have a tour of the Erecting Shop and the wider site ( including the new Bellway housing development).
For those unable to come on the Saturday there are a limited number of places available for visits on Friday afternoon, January 3, between 3-5pm.
