Child Action Northwest (CANW) has been awarded Investing in Children (IiC) status for work carried out with children and young people by their Criminal Justice Service.
CANW’s Criminal Justice Service works with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s Youth Justice Service to help young people who have committed a criminal offence understand the consequences of their actions.
They were also named Social Enterprise of the Year at the 2019 Enterprise in Society Awards. CANW team member Rachael Gallagher also picked up the Employee of the Year Award.
Michelle Dixon, head of service for Criminal Justice and Building Better Opportunities, said: “This award shows the true passion of our team, many of which bring with them their own life experiences to help them help others.
“We passionately believe that every individual has the right to achieve their full potential whatever their background or circumstance.”
