A fundraising hero has managed to raise an incredible £20,500 for charity by organising a brass band concert.

East Lancashire Hospice supporter Graham Helm, held the concert at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester featuring the 2nd Rossendale Brass Band, and the Brighouse and Raistrick Brass Band.

Mr Helm said, “I am delighted with the final amount raised from such a special event that had been many months in the making and raised a tremendous amount of money for East Lancashire Hospice.

"Of course I want to say a huge thank you to all who performed and also to everyone who bought tickets.”

Income Generation Lead from East Lancashire Hospice, Sharon Crymble said, “Graham has been a fantastic supporter of the hospice, and I know how much it means to him after care was provided for his late wife Paula.

"To make sure others can receive the same care if needed, he works tirelessly to raise money and to get the message out about the hospice.

"He organises and attends Gala Dinners, brings his band into the hospice every Christmas for the patients to enjoy and gives talks about why it is important to know about the hospice and also to support it."
