A 29-YEAR-OLD from Great Sankey is one of three Bolton Wanderers fans who assaulted Wigan Athletic supporters.

Callum Seddon, of Norbreck Close, was given a football banning order for his involvement in the assault on December 1 last year.

He appeared at Bolton Combined Courts on Wednesday alongside two men from Bolton - Dylan Needham, 18, of Catherine's Court and Joshua Stodart, 21 of Varley Road.

The three men were part of a group who approached a small number of Wigan Athletic supporters outside the Bee Hive pub in Horwich and began to assault them.

It spilled into the pub, where further Wigan supporters were assaulted.

Needham and Stodart received a three-year banning order for the offence, while Seddon received a four-year banning order.

Police constable Matt Ford said: "This was an unprovoked violent incident which would have been extremely frightening for anyone who was in the pub at the time.

"Thanks to the quick response of officers, the disorder was quickly brought to an end.

"The majority of supporters were extremely well behaved before, during and after the game, but, unfortunately, there can sometimes be a minority intent on causing trouble.

"These banning orders should send out a message to any supporters that are considering committing offences on a matchday."
