POLICE are warning residents about cold-callers after reports of incident last week.

Burnley and Padiham Police posted on social media about a call from the Rossendale Road area in Burnley.

A police spokesman said: "We've had a call about a young man selling door to door but was asking to come into the callers house.

"Our caller wisely declined their entry. No criminal offences but we just wanted to let you know as our caller had their suspicions.

"If you have vulnerable friends or family in the area maybe just check in or make them aware. We're having a look around the area to see if we can catch up with the sellers. As usual, any concerns you can report it online, call 101 or 999 in an emergency."
