A man was found with a gunshot wound in Lewisham last night (December 14).

The incident was reported on Brockley Road just before 10pm.

Met Police in the area said they had established a cordon around the location where the wounded man was found and were investigating what happened.

No one has been arrested in connection to the apparent shooting so far.

Responding to a request from News Shopper, a spokesperson for the Met Police offered further details of what happened:

“Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to Brockley Road, SE4, at 21:48hrs on Saturday, December 14, to reports of a man shot in the leg.

“Officers attended. A 29-year-old man was found with a gunshot injury.

“He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

“His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.

In addition, the spokesperson added that a crime scene was in place and that their inquiries continue.

Lewisham MPS reported the incident on Twitter in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A statement put out by the borough police force account suggested the unnamed 29-year-old had been wounded by a shotgun.

“A crime scene is currently in place in Brockley Road, SE4, after a man was found with a shotgun injury to his leg.

“His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening. No arrests at this stage,” the statement  read.
