AN ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD dancer from Barry has earned an associate place on the Royal Ballet School’s outreach programme.

Colm Edwards, who has been attending the Nicola Peros Ballet Academy since 2017, auditioned for the Springtime place along with Fellow students Rosie-Jo Bishop, 10, and Millie Saunders, nine.

Mrs Peros said: “Colm auditioned for an associate place with the outreach programme with the Royal Ballet school, along with two other girls from my school all obtained places - Millie and Rosie.

“He adores his classes held in Bath fortnightly and looks towards a possible future in ballet and aspires to go full time in September as he’s eligible to audition for White Lodge Lower School.

“He auditioned for the Spring intensive one-week course and again was offered a place.

“He is entered for his Grade 5 RAD and will continue to increase his classes now in light of the audition for Lower School.

“I myself am very proud of him as he has worked extremely hard and is a committed student who definitely has a future in dance.”
