A MAN who turned up at his cousin's takeaway drunk was ejected by his relative.

Blackburn magistrates heard that on his way out Adeel Iqbal kicked out, smashing a glass door panel.

Iqbal, 25, of Higher Antley Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Petraz takeaway, Accrington. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £200 compensation and £21 victim surcharge.

Ruby Mckeague, prosecuting, said Iqbal appeared intoxicated when he attended the takeaway and became verbally abusive to staff before kicking the door as he was escorted out.

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said the cousin smelled alcohol on his client and that started a row.

"He was pushed out of the premises and as that happened, out of frustration, he kicked the door," said Mr Taylor.
