GRANDAD Tommy Mullins could not bear to give up his job at Padiham pool at a stroke.
So two days after officially retiring as a pool attendant and swimming instructor, he will be back among friends this time as a part-time sauna attendant.
Tommy aged 65, said: "I have really enjoyed working here. I must have if I want to come back straight away."
To mark his retirement his colleagues held a surprise presentation and Tommy of Copster Green, Blackburn received a radio from Bill Schofield water recreation assistant on behalf of the staff. The story appeared in the paper in 1979.
