POLICE called to a report of a drunken man swearing at children in the street found he was in possession of cannabis.
Karl Hart, 46, of Accrington Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £21 victim surcharge.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client apologised for the incident.
"He has a number of medical problems which cause him a great deal of pain," said Mr Taylor.
"He says the cannabis helps with that."
