Boris Johnson has praised the heroic actions of firefighters fighting the blaze at The Cube.
The Prime Minister took to Twitter this afternoon as crews continue to damp down the fire ravaged student accomodation block on Bradshawgate.
Fire crews were called to the six-storey building close to the town centre, at around 8.30pm on Friday November 15 and worked to bring the flames under control through the night.

Mr Johnson, writing on Twitter, said: "My thoughts are with all those affected by the serious fire in Bolton last night.
"Thank you to emergency services for your brave response. I have spoken with AFC Tony Hunter who is in charge at the scene, and we are doing everything to ensure they have all the required support."

At its height, around 200 firefighters were tackling the blaze, with 40 fire engines, three aerial platforms and other specialist appliances being used.

In total two people were treated by paramedics at the scene, including one person who was rescued by crews using an aerial platform.
