A MAN has been seriously hurt after his car landed on its roof in an early-morning crash.

The 39-year-old was driving a Mercedes G63 along Newchurch Road, Bacup, in the direction of Waterfoot when the smash happened at around 2.30am on Sunday.

Police said he failed to travel around a slight bend and careered off the road, before the car fell down a verge and landed on its roof.

The man, from Bacup, suffered serious injuries.

The passenger – a 30-year-old woman from Radcliffe – was also injured. They both remain in Royal Preston Hospital.

Officers are now appealing for potential witnesses to come forward.

Sgt Dave Hurst said: “If you were in the area at the time and saw anything, or you have any dash cam footage, please make contact with us.”

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident reference 181 of November 10.
