COMEDIAN Jimmy Carr appears to be a fan of an iconic Blackburn landmark.
The TV funnyman often takes his mascot, Knitted Jimmy, out on the road with him.
And while performing at King George's Hall over the weekend, he happened upon the grandmother and child statue, off Cathedral Square.
He said on Twitter: "I’m at the King George’s Hall in Blackburn. Here’s the best shopping centre statue in the country, unless you know better..."
Other contenders, like the Desperate Dan statue in Dundee, the Frank Sidebottom memorial in Timperley, near Altrincham, and a similar artwork at Cheshire Oaks, in Ellesmere Port, were cited. A sister statue to the Cathedral Square piece can be found off Corporation Street.
