LANCASHIRE'S elephant residents earned themselves a huge treat this Halloween.
Elephants at Blackpool Zoo were treated today to a pumpkin weighing in at a massive 50 stone to celebrate the spooky season.
Zookeepers recruited the help of Lancashire firefighters to see the plan through and get the pumpkin over to the zoo, making six hungry elephants very happy.
Fire engines and pickup trucks were all marshalled to get the elephants their 743lb-heavy snack.
The pumpkin even came complete with a scary face, but that did not put the four-legged fiends off their fruit and veg. They were seen happily tuck in once the delivery had been made.
