THE Grane Road was shut due to a serious crash.
The road was closed in both directions between the Holden Arms and the Grey Mare Inn.
One motorist said there were also two police vehicles at the road's junction with the M65 stopping traffic.

The entrance to the road on the roundabout above the motorway was closed causing tailbacks on slip roads and delays on Haslingden Road close to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
It is believed the accident took place somewhere between the Grey Mare Inn and the Holden Arms, Haslingden, affecting traffic heading between Haslingden and Blackburn.
Police later said a man died following a crash between a van and a motorcycle.
The road was re-opened on Thursday afternoon.
Rossendale Police said: "Grane Road is currently closed between the Holden Arms at the Haslingden side and the motorway roundabout at the Blackburn side due to a serious collision, please avoid the area whilst we deal with this incident."
