Fire crews battled for almost an hour to control a blaze at an isolated Rossendale farm in November 1983.
Four appliances dealt with the fire at Holly Farm, Waterfoot.
A fire service spokesperson said: "The blaze started in the barn and spread to the farm buildings. It was well alight by the time we got there but there was no-one in the farmhouse."
