A WRITING group that unites people with a passion for creativity celebrated its achievements at Bacup Library.
Bacup artist Chris Worswick, 74, founded the group when she found herself unable to drive after breaking her arm and looked for something closer to home.
The group has since published its first booklet and is now working on a second edition.
Mrs Worswick, who has Parkinson’s and hearing difficulties because of tinnitus, said: “I have always had a passion for writing and so I set up the group in January 2018.
“I had already been commissioned by Rossendale Council to produce mosaic panels depicting the town’s history as part of the Townscape Heritage Initiative.”
She soon realised members were also interested in other creative arts and so a family fun day was organised.
This included member Gerry Fitton, 74, bringing along puppets she had made.
As a result of attending the group, Mrs Fitton has now written and illustrated a children’s book Crocodile Tears.
Bacup Creative Writing Group meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 2pm to 4pm.
