VIRGIN Media has brought its Gigl broadband service, the UK’s fastest, to Burnley and the surrounding area.
The firm's latest online and web offering is now available to more than 50,000 homes in Burnley and its town centre, as well as surrounding towns including Colne, Nelson and Padiham.
Jeff Dodds, chief operating officer at Virgin Media, said: “This is a next-generation broadband boost for the residents of Burnley.
“These hyperfast speeds are 25 times faster than Burnley’s average broadband connection, meaning that households can do everything they want to do online, at the same time, without delay and are well set for whatever comes next.
“The Government has called for nationwide gigabit connectivity and we’re helping them leap forward to reach this ambition by turning on our next-generation Gig1 broadband across our entire network over the next 24 months - a speed and scale unmatched by anyone else. Gig1 provides customers with Virgin's new Hub 4 router."
