An investigation is due to be carried out after a man had to be rescued from a house fire in Blackburn.

Fire crews Blackburn and Darwen were called to the incident in Mosley Street at around 11pm on Sunday.

Four breathing apparatus were used and one man was rescued from the property by firefighters.

The man was taken to hospital for precautionary check ups but is not thought to be seriously injured.

A fire service spokesperson said: "We requested a company come to make the property secure and a multi-agency meeting is taking place this morning to investigate the cause of the fire."
