A GROUP of 32 runners raised £6,000 for a child cancer support charity by completing the Manchester Half Marathon.

The total means Blackburn Road Runners have now raised £13,000 for the Fight Like a Kid charity.

The trustees for the charity Graham Jordan, Michelle Jordan, Janet Cottam, Julie Lord and Koulton Bramley, thanked all the runners for their support.

Fight Like a Kid is an East Lancashire-based charity, which supports children and their families through their cancer diagnosis and beyond. Set up by the family and friends of former Lower Darwen schoolboy Theo Power, who successfully battled neuroblastoma, Fight Like a Kid is a charity partners of Blackburn Rovers. Mr Jordan said the charity hoped to host a fundraising ball next year.
