A FUNDRAISING page has been set up to help the family of a 35-year-old dad who was found dead.

Friends of Caroline Pharo have rallied together to help the mum-of-three after the body of her much-loved husband Scott was found on October 9.

Tracie Hamilton and Hayley Houldsworth created a Justgiving page and so far £1,285 has been raised and they are over halfway to their target of £2,000 for the family.

Tracie said: “We know that nothing we can do will bring Scott back and it is hard for the family so we want to raise the money to get them through the grieving process.

“Caroline now finds herself not only trying to support her children emotionally but now has the extra burden of paying for everyday bills and their mortgage.

“We want to take Caroline’s worries away as she is just on auto-pilot at the minute keeping on top of family life.”

Tracie has known the St Wulstan’s RC Primary, Great Harwood, teaching assistant for six years and paid tribute to Scott.

The 43-year-old said: “It is just a terrible set of circumstances and we cannot imagine what she is going through at the minute.

“Her mum Kathryn has been so supportive to her and helping her out 24/7.

“Everyone is in shock in the community and with the amount of tributes and comments on social media then you can see that people cannot believe it.”

Funeral arrangements have not been confirmed but Tracie said the money will help Caroline in the future.

Police posted an appeal on social media as they were concerned about Scott on October 8.

He had last been seen on CCTV waking towards Accrington Victoria Hospital, carrying a grey rucksack, at about 12.45pm on the Monday after leaving his car on Haywood Road but two days later his body was found.

Tracie said: “Everyone could not believe it when he went missing and people went searching for him and we all hoped for a positive outcome.

“Scott was a proper family man. He was a polite and lovely guy."
